Social and Behavior Change Consultant SBC In Jigawa and Kaduna

Malaria Consortium is recruiting a Social and Behavior Change Consultant SBC to support the 2026 Azithromycin AZM Mass Drug Administration MDA campaigns in Jigawa, Kaduna, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Gombe States. Malaria Consortium is a leading international non-profit organisation dedicated to saving lives and strengthening equitable health systems across Africa and Asia. The SBC Consultant will support community-centred approaches that promote caregiver awareness, acceptance, and uptake of AZM interventions for children aged 1–59 months under the SARMAAN II project.

The SBC Consultant will provide technical assistance and oversight for planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting SBC activities before, during, and after the AZM MDA campaigns. Key responsibilities include developing context-specific SBC materials, designing targeted advocacy strategies, engaging community and religious leaders, facilitating Training of Trainers for health workers and community mobilizers, executing localized media plans, and monitoring community engagement activities. The consultant will also support state and LGA-level flag-off events and ensure effective post-campaign reinforcement.

The consultant will work closely with State agencies, Malaria Consortium State Project Managers, LGA Field Assistants, and other relevant personnel to ensure coordinated messaging, high-quality campaign delivery, and improved caregiver acceptance. Deliverables include pre-during-and post-campaign SBC workplans, adapted materials, advocacy plans, weekly updates, campaign reports, and a detailed consultancy report submitted within seven days after campaign completion.

Applicants must have a minimum of a first degree in Social Sciences or related fields with at least three years post-graduation experience. Candidates should have prior experience in AZM or similar campaigns such as ITNs, SMC, or polio immunization, and experience developing behavior change campaigns. Knowledge of malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment is required, along with strong training, supervisory, technical writing, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment are essential.
