Role Overview:
The Clinical Service Provider will lead the outreach team in the assigned location to provide family planning services, especially long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs), in hard-to-reach and underserved communities. The role involves ensuring client satisfaction, robust demand creation, adolescent reach, data reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery:
• Ensure high-quality delivery of LAPMs in line with outreach schedules and mobilization plans.
• Provide client-focused counseling and obtain appropriate consent.
• Implement MSI values including client focus, task shifting, de-medicalization, and non-hierarchical management.
• Support institutional strengthening and capacity-building initiatives.
• Conduct at least 20 productive outreaches per month, spending 6-7 hours on site with an average reach of 62 clients daily.
• Improve method mix and increase mobilization for permanent methods.
Clinical Quality:
• Ensure all service providers maintain level 1 competency and provide appropriate clinical supervision.
• Maintain a database of trained locums and support quality assurance.
• Achieve and maintain model site status with 90%+ assessment scores.
• Manage medical supplies, equipment, and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure proper documentation of staff meetings, client audits, and referral pathways.
Performance Management and Client Mobilization:
• Track team performance against KPIs and develop SMART action plans.
• Submit outreach workplans and ensure accurate reporting.
• Conduct 90% of outreaches according to monthly schedule and report deviations.
• Reconcile service numbers, stock utilization, and outreach costs monthly.
Data Reporting and Management:
• Ensure proper data entry and management using CLIC systems.
• Verify client records for accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct monthly regional data reviews and maintain secure storage of records.
• Achieve overall data quality assurance score of 100%.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)
• Evidence of good standing with relevant professional bodies in Nigeria
• Technical expertise in LARCs, specifically IUD and implant insertion and removal
• Leadership and mentoring experience
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office software packages
• Knowledge of local geography and cultural contexts
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
