Monitoring and Evaluation M&E Job in Gombe
Malaria Consortium is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation M&E Consultant to support the 2026 Azithromycin AZM Mass Drug Administration MDA campaigns in Gombe, Adamawa, and Jigawa States. Malaria Consortium is a leading international non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening health systems and improving health outcomes across Africa and Asia through evidence-based, equitable, and resilient approaches.
The M&E Consultant will provide technical support for microplanning, data collection, validation, analysis, reporting, and learning during the AZM MDA campaigns. The consultant will ensure evidence-based implementation, high-quality data collection, and timely reporting to support effective decision-making and programme delivery.
Key responsibilities include leading pre-implementation data verification, deploying and monitoring digital tools such as Kobo Collect and Digit HCM, conducting facility visits, supervising and validating treatment and logistics data, coordinating daily data analysis, and supporting learning-to-action events. The consultant will also provide capacity building for supervisors and Health Facility Workers HFWs, participate in review meetings, and offer technical mentoring to LGA-level staff.
Deliverables include a verified personnel database, finalized MDA e-attendance records, M&E sections of End-of-Round reports, data analysis briefs and dashboards, activity reports for training and supervision, flagged data issue logs, and updated performance monitoring summaries. The consultant will report to the State Programme Manager with functional reporting to the M&E Manager, ensuring adherence to Malaria Consortium’s safeguarding, ethics, and data protection policies.
Applicants must hold a degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in M&E roles, preferably in malaria campaigns. Proficiency in data collection tools such as Kobotoolbox, QGIS, Excel, and Power BI is required. Candidates must have strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills, fluency in English and Hausa, and availability for the full consultancy period. Candidates must not be current staff of any Government Ministry of Health or involved in MDA-AZM activities at the time of application.
