About the Role
UNICEF is seeking a Health Officer (Polio) to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of health and immunization programmes. This role is critical in advancing polio eradication and strengthening maternal and child health systems in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Support programme development, planning, and implementation
- Monitor health programmes and evaluate results
- Provide technical and operational support for immunization and polio eradication
- Build partnerships with stakeholders and health institutions
- Contribute to innovation, knowledge sharing, and capacity building
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nutrition, Global Health, or related field
- Experience: At least 2 years in public health, maternal/child health, or humanitarian health programmes
- Skills:
- Immunization programme management
- Disease outbreak monitoring and response
- Health programme planning and execution
- Partnership and stakeholder engagement
- Language: Fluency in English
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, French, Spanish, etc.)
- Experience with UN agencies or in humanitarian/development settings
- Experience in fragile or emergency contexts
