Social and Behavior Change (SBCC) Jobs in Adamawa

Malaria Consortium is seeking a Social and Behavior Change (SBCC) Consultant to support the 2026 Azithromycin (AZM) Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign in Adamawa State. Malaria Consortium is a leading international non-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening health systems and improving health outcomes across Africa and Asia through evidence-based, equitable, and resilient approaches.

The SBCC Consultant will provide state-level technical assistance and oversight for all social and behavior change activities during the AZM MDA campaign. This includes demand creation, community engagement, capacity building, monitoring, and reporting. Working with relevant state agencies, the consultant will serve as the SBC focal point, support advocacy visits to stakeholders, adapt and develop SBC materials, facilitate trainings, and guide local personnel to ensure effective and consistent messaging for caregivers and communities.

Key responsibilities include developing context-specific SBC strategies, facilitating Training of Trainers (ToT) for health workers and community mobilizers, designing and executing localized media plans, supporting LGA teams to identify local malaria champions, monitoring community engagement using state-specific tools, and providing technical support during state and LGA-level events. The consultant will also document activities, submit post-campaign reports, and ensure SBC interventions are effectively implemented and evaluated.

Deliverables include pre-, during-, and post-campaign workplans, adapted SBC materials, advocacy plans, weekly updates, SBC reports during and after the campaign, completion of preparedness checklists, and detailed consultancy reports submitted within seven days after campaign completion.

Applicants must hold a first degree in Social Sciences or related fields with at least three years post-graduation experience. Candidates should have prior experience with AZM or similar public health campaigns (e.g., ITNs, SMC, Polio), knowledge of malaria prevention and treatment, excellent leadership, training, supervisory, and technical writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and prior experience working with national or state health ministries is an added advantage.
