Programme Monitoring and Improvement Coordinator Job in Abuja

Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is inviting applications for the position of Programme Monitoring and Improvement Coordinator to support its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities in Abuja. The position is offered on a two year fixed term contract. It will contribute to strengthening programme performance, learning and accountability across the organization’s development initiatives.

The Programme Monitoring and Improvement Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning frameworks. The role focuses on generating credible evidence on programme performance. Additionally, it facilitates the synthesis of knowledge that informs decision making, strengthens programme learning and improves programme design and effectiveness. The position also supports compliance with donor reporting requirements. Furthermore, it contributes to the continuous improvement of programme delivery.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing programme theories of change, logic models, results frameworks and MEAL plans. The coordinator will support the consistent collection, cleaning, analysis and visualization of monitoring data to generate insights that inform programme implementation. The role also involves ensuring that field data collection processes follow ethical standards. In addition, it ensures processes follow recognized research methodologies.

The position requires conducting data quality audits and validation checks. These ensure that monitoring data collected across programme sites is accurate, complete and reliable. The coordinator will contribute to the implementation of the country learning agenda by capturing programme lessons and synthesizing learning outputs. The coordinator also supports programme teams to apply insights that strengthen programme strategies and interventions.

The role also involves supporting the coordination of research activities implemented by external partners. Working closely with the Programme Monitoring and Improvement Manager and knowledge and learning teams, the coordinator will ensure that research activities follow approved protocols. In addition, these activities deliver high quality outputs within agreed timelines.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong knowledge of project management and practical experience in designing and implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning systems within development programmes. Applicants should have experience working with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. They should also demonstrate strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, Stata, R or Python is required, while experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is highly desirable.

The starting gross salary for this position is from NGN 19,666,488 per annum depending on experience. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Nigeria as the organization does not sponsor work permits or relocation.
