About the Role

The Nurse Team Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating nursing activities within MSF-supported health facilities in Kebbi State. The role combines clinical nursing duties with team supervision, ensuring high-quality patient care, adherence to medical protocols, and efficient management of nursing staff and resources.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring that Intensive Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC) and Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ATFC) units operate effectively and in line with MSF standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Nursing Duties

  • Provide nursing or anaesthesia services when required to support patient care
  • Ensure proper implementation of MSF medical and hygiene protocols
  • Supervise medication administration, patient monitoring, and clinical follow-up
  • Participate in ward rounds and ensure timely response to patient needs

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Organize staff schedules, leave plans, and team assignments
  • Evaluate staff performance and identify training needs
  • Provide coaching, bedside supervision, and technical support to nurses and assistants
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration among all unit staff

Medical Supplies & Equipment Management

  • Oversee pharmacy and medical stock management, including ordering and inventory control
  • Ensure proper storage, usage, and disposal of medicines
  • Report equipment malfunctions to biomedical services

Data, Reporting & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and medical documentation
  • Contribute to data collection and reporting for decision-making
  • Support infection prevention and control (IPC) measures and quality improvement initiatives

Patient Care & Communication

  • Ensure proper health education is provided to caretakers
  • Facilitate communication between medical teams, mental health staff, and health promoters
  • Maintain a strong working relationship across all departments

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification or equivalent medical training
  • Experience in clinical nursing and/or therapeutic feeding programmes (ITFC/ATFC)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure humanitarian settings
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility to work across departments when needed
