JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., in partnership with John Snow, Inc., is recruiting a Program Associate Consultant – FCT to support the HPV Vaccine Acceleration Program Partners Initiative (HAPPI) in Abuja, Nigeria. This is a 9‑month contract from April to December 2026.
HAPPI, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, works in collaboration with CHAI, IVAC, Jhpiego, and PATH to coordinate global HPV vaccination efforts and support introduction in Nigeria. The program aims to reduce cervical cancer burden by strengthening immunization systems, supporting vaccine rollout, and building sustainable HPV vaccination uptake.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to State Ministries of Health, NPHCDA, SPHCDA, and other stakeholders for HPV vaccine introduction.
- Coordinate with partners (CHAI, UNICEF, WHO) for trainings, research, community engagement, and demand generation activities.
- Develop and maintain work plans, track implementation, and provide monthly, mid-point, and final reports.
- Support HPV transition into routine immunization microplans and evaluate project outcomes.
- Represent JSI at Technical Working Groups and liaise across technical experts and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Medical degree in Public Health, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in vaccines, immunization, or public health programs.
- Experience liaising with government institutions, NGOs, and global health agencies (USAID, WHO, UNICEF, Gavi).
- Strong analytical, reporting, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat; fluency in English required.
