Job for Health Manager – Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH)

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is recruiting a Health Manager – Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) based in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. This role is central to overseeing emergency and non-emergency reproductive health programs, ensuring quality service delivery, and strengthening health systems in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Technical Quality

  • Lead implementation of quality RH program activities across IRC-supported health facilities.
  • Provide clinical and programmatic guidance, training, and supervision to RH staff and local partners.
  • Conduct assessments to ensure women’s and girls’ voices inform RH program design.
  • Support RH data collection, analysis, and timely reporting.
  • Develop protocols for information management in insecure settings.
  • Promote RH awareness and community engagement to increase uptake of services.

Program Development & Grant Management

  • Assist in proposal development, budgeting, and monitoring grant expenditures.
  • Prepare internal and external reports in line with IRC and donor requirements.
  • Ensure effective and timely use of resources to achieve program goals.

Staff Performance Management & Capacity Building

  • Hire, supervise, and mentor RH team members, providing performance feedback and development plans.
  • Implement remote management strategies and promote staff well-being.
  • Support nationalization and succession planning by building local staff capacity.

Research, Learning & Analysis

  • Develop and oversee M&E systems for health programs.
  • Conduct field visits, provide technical support, and ensure integrated programming.
  • Interpret program data to improve service delivery and advocacy efforts.

Coordination & Representation

  • Represent IRC with government authorities, NGOs, and community structures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and facilitate field visits for partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Medicine & Surgery or Nursing Science; valid practicing license in Nigeria.
  • Experience supervising health staff at primary health care level.
  • Expertise in SRHR topics including FP, PAC, CCSAS, BEmONC, ANC/PNC, and safe delivery.
  • Strong report writing, proposal drafting, and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work with displaced populations and in challenging field conditions.
