As part of our mission to scale up operations and enhance community health outcomes in Northern Nigeria, we are currently seeking dedicated and qualified professionals to join our team in Katsina State for the following positions:
1. Nutrition Program Officer
Role Overview:
The Nutrition Program Officer will be responsible for the technical implementation and monitoring of HKI’s nutrition interventions. This role involves working directly with community health workers and local stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services such as Vitamin A supplementation, malnutrition screening, and infant/young child feeding (IYCF) programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and supervise field-level nutrition activities to ensure compliance with national and HKI standards.
• Provide technical support and capacity building for local health facility staff and community volunteers.
• Collect, analyze, and report programmatic data to track progress and identify gaps in service delivery.
• Liaise with the State Ministry of Health and other partners to ensure thematic alignment and sustainability.
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
• Proven experience in NGO nutrition programming, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
• Strong understanding of community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM).
• Fluency in English and Hausa is essential.
2. Procurement Officer
Role Overview:
The Procurement Officer will manage the end-to-end supply chain and procurement processes for the Katsina office. This role ensures that all goods and services required for project implementation are acquired ethically, cost-effectively, and in strict accordance with HKI and donor regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the sourcing, evaluation, and selection of vendors and service providers.
• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to HKI’s global policies and local legal requirements.
• Maintain an updated database of pre-qualified vendors and manage contract renewals.
• Coordinate logistics and delivery of project materials to various Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the state.
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification in Procurement (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement within an international NGO setting.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
