MSF France is currently recruiting a Physiotherapist Supervisor to support its nutrition and health programs in Katsina State.

Job Overview

The Physiotherapist Supervisor is responsible for delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to patients while ensuring adherence to MSF clinical protocols and standards. The role focuses on rehabilitation support, particularly for malnourished patients, and contributes to improving patient outcomes through structured physiotherapy interventions and caregiver engagement.

The position also involves supervising physiotherapy activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care and Rehabilitation

  • Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered physiotherapy care.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
  • Implement appropriate physiotherapy treatments based on patient needs.
  • Deliver orthopedic care and preventive interventions for malnourished patients.
  • Assess neuromotor development and implement stimulation exercises, including play-based therapy.

2. Patient and Caregiver Support

  • Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation processes and home-based care.
  • Promote active participation of caregivers in supporting patient recovery and development.
  • Facilitate group stimulation sessions to enhance patient outcomes.

3. Documentation and Data Management

  • Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and reporting tools.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting in line with MSF requirements.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation processes through proper documentation.

4. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, nutrition, mental health, and health promotion staff.
  • Participate in case discussions, coordination meetings, and joint follow-up activities.

5. Equipment and Resource Management

  • Ensure proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of physiotherapy equipment in line with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and request supplies as needed.
  • Report any damage, loss, or operational issues promptly.

6. Reporting and Compliance

  • Report clinical or operational concerns to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with MSF protocols, ethical standards, and operational guidelines.
