Vacancies for Routine Immunization (RI) Master Trainer

The Jhpiego Nigeria is currently recruiting qualified professionals for the role of Routine Immunization (RI) Master Trainer, with three openings across Abuja, Abakaliki, and Birnin Kebbi. This temporary position forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s primary healthcare system and improve routine immunization coverage nationwide.

Aligned with the Nigeria Strategy for Immunization and PHC System Strengthening (NSIPSS) 2023–2027, the role supports the country’s goal of achieving at least 80% immunization coverage by 2027, particularly targeting zero-dose and under-immunized children. The RI Master Trainers will play a key role in building the capacity of healthcare providers across supported states, ensuring improved service delivery and effective immunization practices.

Selected candidates will lead competency-based training for routine immunization providers in both primary and secondary health facilities. This includes facilitating sessions on vaccine management, cold chain systems, microplanning, injection safety, AEFI surveillance, data quality, and community engagement. They will also support post-training mentorship, supervision, and performance reviews, ensuring that knowledge gained translates into measurable improvements at facility and community levels.

The role involves close collaboration with national and state-level health authorities, including the Primary Health Care Development Agencies, as well as partners under the MCGL-RISE IHP programme. Deliverables include training reports, facility action plans, supervision tools, and documentation of best practices and lessons learned.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, or a related field, with 7–10 years of relevant experience in routine immunization and health systems strengthening. Strong expertise in training facilitation, logistics, data management, and stakeholder engagement is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Membership in a recognized RI Master Trainers group and familiarity with national immunization policies are added advantages.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced public health professionals seeking to contribute to national immunization goals and strengthen healthcare delivery systems across Nigeria.
