Mercy Corps is inviting applications for the position of Project Officer under its Energy 4 Impact platform. This opportunity is based in Abuja and offers a 10 month contract focused on clean energy and climate aligned development.

Through Energy 4 Impact, the organization supports market based approaches to expand access to clean energy and unlock private sector investment.
The Project Officer will play a central role in coordinating field activities, supporting programme implementation, and strengthening collaboration across teams and stakeholders. The role involves organizing community engagements, capacity building sessions, and stakeholder consultations, while ensuring alignment with donor requirements. The successful candidate will also manage logistics, support budgeting and reporting processes, and maintain strong relationships with government institutions, private sector actors, and community partners.
Applicants should have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in energy, environmental studies, development studies, project management, or a related field, with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with experience working on development or donor funded projects. Familiarity with clean energy, climate initiatives, and stakeholder engagement in Nigeria is highly desirable.
The role requires up to 40 percent travel across project locations and offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful climate and energy programmes while working with diverse partners.
