Plan International Nigeria is inviting qualified consultants or consultancy firms to submit proposals for an Endline Study and Training Impact Evaluation of its Teacher Professional Development and Well being Project in Northern Nigeria.
The project focuses on improving teacher professional development, retention, wellbeing, inclusive teaching practices and supportive education systems in crisis affected communities in Adamawa and Sokoto States.
The evaluation will assess the results achieved during the 24 month project period, including changes in teacher shortages, professional development, classroom practices, teacher retention, wellbeing, community support and policy advocacy.
The study will cover 6 Local Government Areas and 30 schools.
Adamawa State: Fufore, Numan and Michika LGAs.
Sokoto State: Bodinga, Sokoto North and Tambuwal LGAs.
The consultant is expected to use a mixed methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative research. The evaluation will include data collection, analysis, stakeholder engagement, safeguarding, ethical research practices and validation of findings.
Key evaluation areas include teacher knowledge and skills, inclusive and gender transformative pedagogy, teacher wellbeing and retention, School Based Management Committee capacity, community support, teacher union engagement, advocacy outcomes, sustainability and value for money.
The selected consultant will be expected to produce an inception report, research matrix, methodology and sampling plan, data collection tools, ethical and safeguarding procedures, cleaned datasets, qualitative transcripts, analysis materials, draft report, final evaluation report and presentation of findings.
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Education or a related field and at least 5 years of experience working with INGOs, CBOs or CSOs, particularly in education and humanitarian or crisis affected settings. Experience conducting complex evaluations in Northern Nigeria is desirable.
Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, knowledge of gender and inclusion, child protection, safeguarding and child rights are required. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent English communication skills and knowledge of at least one relevant local language in Adamawa or Sokoto.
Applicants should submit a technical proposal, detailed financial proposal, CVs, at least 2 samples of relevant research or evaluation reports produced within the last 2 years, a reference or commendation letter and proposed timeline.
