Vacancy for Supply Chain Coordinator in Kano
The Save the Children is currently recruiting for the position of Supply Chain Coordinator in Kano. This role is critical to ensuring the effective coordination and implementation of supply chain operations in Kano, supporting programme delivery in line with organizational policies and global standards. Reporting to the Field Office Manager, the Supply Chain Coordinator will oversee procurement, logistics, warehousing, fleet, and asset management while supervising field supply chain staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating procurement planning, conducting market assessments, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and donor regulations. The role also involves overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring proper stock management, and supporting efficient distribution of programme supplies. Additionally, the coordinator will manage fleet operations, ensure optimal vehicle utilization, and maintain accurate reporting systems for all supply chain activities.
A key aspect of the role includes building the capacity of supply chain staff, ensuring clear performance objectives, and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The coordinator will also work closely with programme teams to ensure timely and effective support for project implementation.
Applicants must possess an advanced degree in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration, or a related field, along with at least five years of relevant experience in NGO or humanitarian settings. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with seven years of experience may be considered. Strong leadership, analytical, and coordination skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in complex and high-pressure environments.
Experience in ERP systems, humanitarian logistics, and professional certifications such as CIPS will be an added advantage.
