Heartland Alliance LTD/GTE (HALG) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing health equity, human rights, and social justice for vulnerable populations in Nigeria. In collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), a critical government institution responsible for strengthening primary healthcare delivery, HALG is spearheading a crucial national health initiative.

Project Overview: NPHCDA IE and Workthrough Microplanning Exercise
This nationwide enumeration and microplanning exercise is a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of primary healthcare interventions across Nigeria. The data collected will be instrumental in improving the reach and effectiveness of health services, particularly in hard-to-reach communities. This exercise is foundational to ensuring equitable access to vital health outcomes for all Nigerians.

Role Overview
HALG, in partnership with NPHCDA, is seeking to engage highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals as Ward Level Consultants (Data Collection Officers). These consultants will play a pivotal role in this nationwide enumeration exercise, gathering essential health-related data at the community (ward) level. This consultancy offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national health planning and service delivery improvements across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct accurate and systematic data collection within assigned wards, adhering strictly to established protocols and guidelines.
Engage respectfully and effectively with community members, leaders, and local healthcare workers to gather necessary information.
Ensure the quality, completeness, and integrity of all collected data.
Utilize provided data collection tools efficiently and accurately.
Submit timely and accurate reports to designated supervisors.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all collected data and information.
Participate actively in all required training and orientation sessions.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, Demography, Community Development, or any related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: Previous experience in community-level data collection, enumeration exercises, or survey administration is highly advantageous.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective community engagement. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data recording. Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision within assigned communities. Proficiency in using mobile data collection tools such as KoboToolbox is preferred.
Local Knowledge: Must be a resident in or possess extensive familiarity with the local dynamics and geographical area of the ward they are applying to serve.
