Save the Children International is recruiting for the position of Pharmacist in Yobe State Nigeria.
The organization operates in more than 100 countries and focuses on improving child health education and protection while responding to humanitarian crises.
The Pharmacist will work within the Health and Nutrition programme and report to the Pharmacy Specialist. The role involves ensuring proper pharmacy practices including safe storage supply distribution and rational use of medicines in line with standard protocols. The position also supports health facilities in maintaining accurate drug dispensing processes and inventory management.
Key responsibilities include supervising medication dispensing ensuring proper storage and labeling of drugs conducting regular inventory checks removing expired medicines and maintaining accurate stock records. The role also involves monitoring drug consumption trends coordinating supply orders and ensuring proper reporting of stock movement.
The Pharmacist will oversee cold chain management by maintaining appropriate storage temperatures and ensuring compliance with contingency plans. Additional duties include training pharmacy staff ensuring compliance with quality standards and supporting pharmacovigilance activities.
Candidates must have a BSc in Pharmacy a valid practicing license and at least 2 years of post NYSC experience. Experience in humanitarian settings and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. Strong organizational skills teamwork and willingness to travel are also important.
Contract duration is 6 months and the role involves regular interaction with children under safeguarding guidelines.
