A project team under the Farmsured-Foodsured Validation Sub-project, part of the FS4Africa Open Call 1 funded by the European Union Horizon Europe Programme, is currently recruiting five (5) Field Officers to support implementation activities in Nigeria.
🌍 About the Project
The Farmsured-Foodsured Validation Sub-project focuses on deploying digitally enabled food safety, compliance, and traceability systems across poultry farms, cooperatives, and market systems in Oyo State, Nigeria.
The initiative aims to strengthen food safety standards, improve traceability mechanisms, and enhance market access for poultry producers through innovative digital solutions.

🎯 Role Overview
The Field Officers will play a critical role in supporting on-the-ground project implementation. They will work closely with farmers, cooperatives, and market actors to ensure effective adoption of digital tools and compliance systems within the poultry value chain.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Supporting farm onboarding into the digital traceability system
- Conducting compliance monitoring across poultry production and market systems
- Facilitating digital field data collection using project tools
- Assisting in the deployment of QR-based traceability solutions
- Engaging farmers, cooperatives, and market stakeholders to promote adoption
- Supporting general field coordination and reporting activities
🎓 Required Backgrounds
The project is seeking motivated individuals with academic or practical experience in:
- Animal Science
- Food Science
- Agricultural Extension
- Livestock Production
- Veterinary or Animal Health/Production
- Agribusiness
- Field data collection and compliance monitoring
