Job Purpose

The Procurement Manager will lead and transform PricePally’s procurement function into a strategic, data-driven unit, ensuring:

  • Product availability
  • Competitive pricing
  • Supplier performance
  • Inventory optimization
  • Cost efficiency

The role supports growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability across fresh produce, proteins, groceries, and FMCG categories.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategy aligned with business goals
  • Lead sourcing across all product categories
  • Create annual procurement plans based on forecasts
  • Ensure product availability while minimizing cost

2. Supplier Management

  • Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers (farmers, cooperatives, distributors)
  • Conduct supplier audits, compliance checks, and performance reviews
  • Maintain approved supplier database

3. Price Intelligence & Cost Optimization

  • Monitor market prices and commodity trends
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, and payment terms
  • Track purchase price variance and savings opportunities

4. Demand & Procurement Planning

  • Collaborate with sales and inventory teams for accurate forecasting
  • Align procurement with seasonality and demand cycles
  • Reduce stock-outs and excess inventory

5. Inventory Optimization

  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance for perishables
  • Reduce waste, spoilage, and aging inventory
  • Monitor turnover and replenishment cycles

6. Procurement Operations

  • Oversee purchase orders and supplier confirmations
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance
  • Track lead times and delivery performance

7. Cost of Sales Management

  • Monitor cost drivers (inventory, logistics, wastage, pricing)
  • Maintain Cost of Sales ≤ 70% of revenue

8. Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop procurement dashboards and KPIs
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Track supplier performance and procurement efficiency

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, Sales, QA, and Operations

10. Risk & Compliance

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure food safety and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain backup suppliers

11. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop procurement team
  • Set KPIs and drive performance
  • Promote innovation and accountability

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Product Availability: >95%
  • Supplier On-Time Delivery: >95%
  • Forecast Accuracy: >90%
  • Stock-Out Rate: <2%
  • Procurement Savings: 5–10% annually
  • Cost of Sales: ≤70% of revenue
  • Waste & Spoilage: <3%

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Logistics, or related field

Certifications (Advantage):

  • CIPS, APICS (CSCP/CPIM), CIPSMN
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt+)
  • PMP

Experience:

  • 8–10 years in procurement/supply chain
  • Minimum 5 years in management role
  • Experience in FMCG, retail, agriculture, or food supply chain

Technical Skills

  • Strategic sourcing & category management
  • Demand forecasting & inventory planning
  • Supplier negotiation & contract management
  • Procurement analytics & ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI/Tableau (SQL is a plus)
