New Incentives (All Babies Are Equal Initiative – NI-ABAE) is an evidence-based organization dedicated to reducing child mortality by increasing childhood vaccination rates in Nigeria. Through cost-effective interventions, the organization provides incentives to caregivers to ensure infants complete their immunization schedules. Its operations are guided by accountability, integrity, and a strong commitment to excellence.

The organization is currently seeking to recruit a Field Manager to support its expanding operations across the northeast and northwest regions of Nigeria. This role is critical to strengthening program delivery and ensuring improved immunization coverage and retention.

Job Summary

The Field Manager will oversee the implementation of a conditional cash transfer (CCT) program that encourages mothers to complete their children’s immunization schedules. The program is executed in collaboration with State Primary Healthcare Development Boards.

The successful candidate will manage a team of Assistant Field Managers and Field Officers responsible for cash disbursements at public clinics. The role involves ensuring high-quality program operations, improving immunization outcomes, and maintaining strong relationships with clinic staff, stakeholders, and team members.

This is a full-time position, and candidates must already reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the operational states or LGAs.

Key Responsibilities

1. CCT Disbursements (30%)

  • Ensure Field Officers meet assigned responsibilities
  • Review clinic daily submissions for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct daily check-ins with Field Officers during immunization days
  • Identify and resolve clinic-level challenges, escalating when necessary
  • Monitor and evaluate Field Officer performance and provide coaching
  • Verify immunization schedules and update changes accordingly
  • Manage financial processes, including expense submissions and office balance requests
  • Take full responsibility for clinic performance under supervision

2. Clinic and Settlement Activities (30%)

  • Monitor progress across clinics and settlements and set priorities
  • Plan and delegate activities while assessing execution quality
  • Focus on reducing default rates in high-risk settlements
  • Conduct routine clinic visits and submit check-in reports
  • Identify operational challenges and propose solutions
  • Maintain accurate schedules and ensure timely budget submissions

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Supply Management (25%)

  • Strengthen relationships between Field Officers and clinic staff
  • Maintain effective communication with LGA stakeholders and health workers
  • Monitor vaccine availability and respond to supply challenges
  • Ensure proper reporting of stockouts and vaccine utilization
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve supply issues

4. Security Awareness (15%)

  • Report security incidents and liaise with the Security Unit
  • Ensure team compliance with security protocols
  • Monitor field safety and provide guidance to team members
  • Stay updated on security policies and operational procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in health or natural sciences)
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant field experience, including managerial experience
  • Fluency in Hausa and other local dialects
  • Willingness to work in remote clinic locations
  • Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s health system and immunization processes
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • High level of financial accountability and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills in English and local languages
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Passion for reducing infant mortality and improving public health outcomes
