Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization, is currently recruiting for the position of Pharmacy Storekeeper in Katsina, Nigeria. MSF works in emergency contexts, providing medical assistance to populations affected by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and lack of access to healthcare.
The Pharmacy Storekeeper will be responsible for the proper management, storage, and distribution of medical supplies within the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards and MSF protocols. The role is critical in maintaining the continuous availability and integrity of medicines and medical materials.

💊 Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the ordering, receipt, storage, and dispatch of medical supplies to ensure rational use
- Receive and verify deliveries, identify discrepancies against manifests, and report issues promptly
- Ensure proper storage conditions for all medical items in compliance with pharmaceutical standards
- Maintain accurate stock records using stock cards and inventory management software
- Conduct regular inventories, including emergency preparedness (EPREP) stock checks
- Monitor stock levels, including alerts for low stock, expired items, and products nearing expiry (within 6 months)
- Prepare and dispatch orders for various departments and units, ensuring proper packaging and documentation
- Monitor warehouse conditions, including temperature control and cold chain compliance
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of pharmacy premises and refrigeration equipment
- Restrict access to authorized personnel and ensure warehouse security at all times
- Manage quarantine, expired, or recalled stock in accordance with MSF procedures
- Participate in physical inventories and stock reconciliation exercises
- Provide weekly stock movement reports for system updates (Isystock)
- Support supervision of daily workers under the Pharmacy Supervisor
- Ensure proper cold chain management throughout storage and distribution processes
- Handle controlled and expired drugs under supervision and report incidents immediately
- Ensure FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles are strictly followed
- Participate in cargo reception, documentation, and stock organization activities
🎓 Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in pharmacy stock management or medical supply chain operations preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of cold chain management and pharmaceutical storage standards
- Ability to work in a structured and protocol-driven environment
- Basic computer literacy (inventory systems, Microsoft tools, reporting systems)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in humanitarian settings
