Role Overview
The Protection Information Management Officer (PIMO) will play a critical role in ensuring that protection data is accurately collected, securely stored, analyzed, and effectively used to guide humanitarian programming and decision-making.
This position supports evidence-based programming by improving data quality, analysis, and visualization, while ensuring strict compliance with data protection policies and global Protection Information Management (PIM) standards.

Key Responsibilities
📊 Information Management Systems
- Design and manage data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, CommCare)
- Maintain structured and reliable protection databases
- Develop indicators, frameworks, and reporting systems
- Identify gaps and improve data systems and SOPs
🔍 Data Management & Quality Control
- Ensure accurate, confidential, and timely data collection
- Perform data validation, cleaning, and consistency checks
- Maintain organized and secure data storage systems
📈 Data Analysis, Reporting & Visualization
- Analyze quantitative & qualitative protection data
- Produce reports (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc)
- Develop dashboards, infographics, and visual insights
- Support sector reporting (e.g., 5W) and situation reports
🛡️ Protection Strategy Support
- Provide data-driven insights for program design
- Support assessments and identify protection trends
- Integrate age, gender, and diversity considerations
🔐 Data Protection & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to PUI data protection standards
- Promote ethical and confidential data handling
- Support data sharing protocols and risk mitigation
🤝 Coordination & Capacity Building
- Collaborate with Protection & MEAL teams
- Train staff on data tools and best practices
- Support harmonized reporting and data use across teams

Requirements
- Degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Information Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in data/information management (NGO/INGO preferred)
- Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and visualization
- Experience with tools like Kobo, CommCare, Excel dashboards

Additional Assets
- Knowledge of Hausa and/or Kanuri
- Experience with Power BI or similar tools
- Background in humanitarian protection programming
- Strong analytical writing and research skills
