NEW FOUNDATION FOR DISPLACED PERSONS IS RECRUITING
The New Foundation for Displaced Persons (NFDP) is recruiting qualified candidates to fill multiple positions in Borno State.
NFDP is a non-governmental organization established under Nigerian law to support people displaced by insurgency and crises to survive, recover and rebuild their lives.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
- PROCUREMENT OFFICER
LOCATION: BORNO STATE
EXPERIENCE: 3–5 YEARS
The Procurement Officer will oversee procurement processes, track goods and services throughout the procurement cycle, ensure adequate competition and provide procurement mentoring to project staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage procurement processes in line with NFDP policies, donor requirements and Nigerian laws.
Work with local, national and international vendors while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
Ensure competitive and transparent procurement processes.
Coordinate delivery logistics, permits, authorizations and documentation.
Manage fleet and logistics-related contracts and outsourced fleet services.
Prepare budgets, solicit quotations, negotiate with vendors and conduct procurement analysis.
Recommend suitable vendors for goods and services.
Coordinate transportation, insurance, loading and unloading of goods and materials.
Communicate procurement and delivery schedules with relevant teams.
Verify that goods, services and deliverables are completed on time and according to requirements.
Review and recommend improvements to procurement policies and procedures.
Maintain procurement records, registries and filing systems for efficient audits.
Support logistics and procurement operations for projects and grants.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of National Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics or another relevant Social Science field.
At least 2 years of experience managing procurement and data management within an international organization.
Experience and knowledge of logistics, supply chain policies and procedures.
Good command of English.
Hausa and Kanuri language skills are an advantage.
Strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail.
Problem-solving and initiative.
Training and capacity-building experience.
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to compliance, ethics and safeguarding.
