Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is currently recruiting for the position of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Supervisor. This role is designed for experienced professionals in the humanitarian and health sector who are passionate about delivering high-quality psychosocial support services in complex and emergency settings.
The MHPSS Supervisor will provide technical leadership and operational oversight for all mental health and psychosocial support activities within the project. The role involves leading the daily planning and implementation of MHPSS interventions, ensuring that all activities align with established project timelines and PUI standards. A key responsibility includes supervising Psychosocial Workers (PSWs) to ensure that services such as individual and group counselling sessions meet global standards, including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines.
In addition to program implementation, the supervisor will conduct regular needs assessments and program reviews to identify service gaps and recommend improvements. They will also coordinate with logistics teams to ensure the availability of safe and functional spaces such as Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS), One-Stop Centres (OSC), and Mother-Baby Corners for service delivery. Monitoring and reporting are critical components of the role, including tracking performance indicators, managing data collection systems, and preparing detailed monthly reports on program progress and challenges.
The position also requires strong team management and capacity-building skills. The supervisor will provide daily oversight of the MHPSS team, deliver technical coaching, and organize training sessions on key topics such as Psychological First Aid (PFA) and referral pathways. They will lead case management discussions, support staff wellbeing, and participate in recruitment and performance evaluations.
Furthermore, the role involves representing PUI in coordination meetings and engaging with stakeholders such as community leaders, NGOs, and government health authorities to strengthen program impact. The supervisor will ensure integration of psychosocial support across multiple sectors, including health, protection, nutrition, and livelihoods.
This position offers a monthly salary of ₦663,780 and provides an opportunity to work within a reputable international NGO committed to humanitarian response and community resilience.
