Overview
Join the Smiles for Mothers program to improve maternal health outcomes at the frontline of care. The Field Implementation Support Officer will support rollout and sustained delivery of a comprehensive Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) clinical bundle and other maternal health innovations, while strengthening health facility capacity and monitoring program progress.
Key responsibilities
– Support implementation and scale-up of the PPH bundle and associated maternal health interventions at assigned health facilities.
– Strengthen facility-level clinical and operational capacity through on-site coaching, mentorship, and technical support.
– Monitor program indicators, collect and validate routine data, and report progress to the program team.
– Conduct supportive supervision, identify implementation gaps, and follow up on corrective actions.
– Facilitate stakeholder engagement with facility staff, local health authorities, and partners.
– Contribute to documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and periodic program reports.
– Participate in training sessions and quality-improvement activities as required.
Qualifications and skills
– Bachelor’s degree or HND in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Community Health, Health Management, or related discipline.
– Practical experience in maternal health programs, clinical mentorship, or health facility support is preferred.
– Familiarity with PPH management and maternal health clinical protocols is an advantage.
– Strong data recording and reporting skills; comfortable using Excel and basic monitoring tools.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
– Ability to travel frequently to health facilities and work in frontline settings.
– Commitment to safeguarding and respectful, inclusive health services.
