ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
CRS is seeking experienced public health research consultants to conduct an End of Round assessment of the 2026 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention SMC campaigns.
The assessment will evaluate SMC coverage, implementation quality, treatment adherence and compliance with SMC protocols following the fourth treatment cycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct data collection, analysis and interpretation.
Develop the End of Round programmatic assessment report.
Train supervisors and data collectors on the approved methodology.
Supervise and monitor the data collection process using electronic data collection platforms.
Ensure data quality before analysis.
Assess SMC coverage among eligible children aged 3 to 59 months.
Measure the number of SMC cycles received by eligible children.
Assess treatment adherence among caregivers and Community Drug Distributors.
Identify factors associated with SMC visits and treatment administration.
Assess the effectiveness of information channels on SMC.
Measure the information provided to caregivers regarding adverse reactions to SMC.
Develop state specific and harmonised reports.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation highlighting findings, trends and recommendations across the four states.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years of experience conducting public health research or surveys.
Previous experience conducting community based field research or surveys.
Knowledge of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention implementation and processes.
Capacity and human resources to conduct surveys across more than one state within the same period.
Experience with Kobo Collect or SurveyCTO is desirable.
Experience with Tableau or Power BI is desirable.
Experience with SPSS or STATA is desirable.
Knowledge of programmable software such as MySQL is an advantage.
Strong skills in mobile data collection tool design, data analysis, data visualisation and report writing.
Strong understanding of survey methodology, including LQAS.
SURVEY DURATION
The survey will be conducted over 10 days, including training, field data collection, analysis, entry meetings and debriefing.
SURVEY PERIOD
Adamawa: 28th September to 12th October 2026
Kaduna: 27th September to 11th October 2026
Niger: 28th September to 12th October 2026
Taraba: 17th to 31st October 2026
The survey period is subject to completion of the fourth SMC cycle in each state.
