WANEP-Nigeria Calls for Applications: 2-Day Training of Trainers for Young Women and Gender Equality Allies

The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP-Nigeria), in partnership with the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) and with support from Global Affairs Canada, invites applications for a two-day Training of Trainers program designed for young women and gender equality allies.

Under the theme “Young Women Leading Change: Strengthening Leadership, Peacebuilding and Community Action through Peer Learning and Mentorship,” this initiative seeks to empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to drive meaningful change within their communities.

The training is scheduled to take place from 29–30 June 2026 in Abuja. Applicants based in Abuja will be given preference due to the location of the program.

This program targets young women and gender equality allies between the ages of 18 and 35 who are passionate about leadership, peacebuilding, and advancing gender equality.

Selected participants will gain practical skills and knowledge in key areas including leadership and mentorship, Women, Peace and Security (WPS), Youth, Peace and Security (YPS), conflict analysis and peacebuilding, advocacy and community mobilization, as well as designing community-based action plans. The training emphasizes peer learning and mentorship as critical tools for sustainable community impact.

Through this initiative, WANEP-Nigeria aims to strengthen the capacity of young leaders to actively contribute to peacebuilding processes and promote inclusive development across their communities.

Interested and eligible candidates are encouraged to apply before the deadline on Thursday, 25 June 2026. Spaces are limited, and early application is strongly advised.
