Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Job in Adamawa
Malaria Consortium is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Consultant to support the 2026 Azithromycin (AZM) Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign in Adamawa State. Malaria Consortium, established in 2003, is a leading non-profit organisation focused on preventing, controlling, and treating malaria and other communicable diseases, improving health outcomes across Africa and Asia through evidence-based programmes.
The SARMAAN II Project (Safety and Antimicrobial Resistance of Mass Administration of Azithromycin among Children 1–59 Months in Nigeria) combines intervention and research components to assess the safety, antimicrobial resistance impact, and child mortality outcomes of bi-annual AZM MDA in children. Malaria Consortium is implementing the intervention in Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Jigawa states, targeting at least 80% coverage of eligible children.
The M&E Consultant will provide technical support for microplanning, data collection, validation, analysis, reporting, and learning during the AZM MDA campaigns. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading pre-implementation data verification, supporting Kobo tool deployment, and monitoring digital attendance.
- Coordinating daily data analysis, field supervision, and validation of treatment and logistics data.
- Ensuring quality data collection and management before, during, and after each MDA round.
- Developing monitoring plans, maintaining databases, producing summary reports, dashboards, and trend analyses.
- Supporting capacity building by training supervisors and health facility workers on data collection tools and providing technical mentoring to LGA staff.
- Reporting to the State Programme Manager and functional reporting to the M&E Manager, ensuring adherence to Malaria Consortium’s safeguarding, ethics, and data protection policies.
Expected deliverables include verified personnel databases, finalized MDA e-attendance records, M&E sections of End-of-Round reports, data analysis briefs, dashboards, activity reports, and updated performance monitoring summaries. The consultant will be engaged for 90 days from March to August 2026.
Applicants must have a degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, with a minimum of five years’ experience in M&E roles, preferably in malaria campaigns. Proficiency in Kobotoolbox, QGIS, Excel, and Power BI is required. Fluency in English and Hausa is essential; knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage. Candidates must not be employed by government or involved in MDA-AZM activities at any level in the State Ministry of Health.
Application closing date is Monday, 30th March, 2026, by 5:00PM. Apply online via https://ee.kobotoolbox.org/x/5XlZFK3y.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and Malaria Consortium does not request payment for recruitment.
