The organization is currently recruiting a Senior Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join its team in Abuja, Nigeria, on a full-time basis.
📌 Job Overview
The Senior M&E Officer will serve as the primary focal point for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities under the SARMAAN II project. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality data systems, strengthening health information management, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across project implementation.
The officer will work closely with the M&E Manager and project leadership to enhance data quality, reporting systems, and program effectiveness at state, LGA, and community levels.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
Technical Contributions (50%)
The role involves planning and implementing M&E activities, ensuring timely availability of high-quality data, and managing data collection processes across all phases of program implementation. The officer will support database management, develop monitoring plans, conduct performance tracking, and contribute to evaluations and survey designs.
Program Management (20%)
The Senior M&E Officer will support coordination with State Ministries of Health and ensure reporting compliance across health facilities. This includes participating in supervisory visits, identifying gaps, and supporting action plans to improve service delivery and reporting systems.
Accountability (10%)
The role includes strengthening community feedback systems, ensuring beneficiary engagement, and promoting accountability practices across programs.
Knowledge Management & Learning (20%)
The officer will facilitate data review sessions, promote learning initiatives, document best practices, and support knowledge-sharing across teams and stakeholders. This includes developing learning briefs and contributing to continuous program improvement.
Representation (10%)
The role requires engagement with government stakeholders, participation in M&E forums, and representation in technical meetings and communities of practice.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Statistics, Demography, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s public health system and community-based programs
- Experience with HMIS, CLMS, and data systems such as DHIS
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and statistical tools (e.g., Stata, SPSS)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
