Malaria Consortium is recruiting a State Project Manager to provide leadership and management for the SARMAAN II Project in Kaduna State.
The successful candidate will oversee project implementation, resources, budgets, partnerships and stakeholder engagement while ensuring timely delivery of project activities and achievement of targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead project startup, planning and implementation activities in line with donor approved workplans
Provide leadership and performance management oversight to the state project team
Coordinate overall project implementation and ensure activities are delivered on time and within budget
Develop and implement annual workplans
Support monitoring and evaluation planning and implementation
Manage and track state project budgets and financial reporting
Prepare project updates, progress reports and presentations
Coordinate documentation, learning and dissemination of project activities
Build strong relationships with government institutions, partners and other stakeholders
Oversee project partners and subcontractors to ensure effective and harmonised delivery
Manage financial, reputational and security risks
Ensure high quality project data is collected, analysed and reported
Provide technical performance oversight and quality assurance
Represent Malaria Consortium at relevant state level meetings and participate in national meetings where required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Postgraduate or Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology or another relevant specialty
Extensive experience working at national or state level in developing countries on donor funded projects
Excellent project planning, management and monitoring and evaluation skills
Experience managing project budgets
Proven leadership and team management skills
Experience in advocacy and policy influencing
Excellent written and spoken English
DESIRABLE
Experience in malaria programme implementation
Experience leading projects at state level
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Understanding of public health issues in West and Central Africa
