Vacancy for Supply Chain Technical Assistant in Jigawa

The Malaria Consortium is currently recruiting for the position of Supply Chain Technical Assistant in Jigawa State. As a globally recognized nonprofit established in 2003, Malaria Consortium is dedicated to the prevention, control, and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases, working to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations across Africa and Asia.

This role is focused on providing technical support for the supply chain management of Azithromycin Mass Drug Administration (MDA) commodities at the state level. The successful candidate will ensure efficient logistics operations, commodity accountability, and end-to-end visibility throughout the supply chain system. Working closely with the State Logistic Management Coordinating Unit, the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and other stakeholders, the assistant will play a critical role in strengthening programme implementation.

Key responsibilities include conducting monthly stock assessments, supporting microplanning and quantification of commodities, managing distribution plans, and coordinating reverse logistics after each MDA cycle. The role also involves monitoring deliveries, identifying discrepancies, facilitating pharmacovigilance reporting, and ensuring accurate and timely logistics reporting. Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to reconcile data and improve overall programme efficiency.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a minimum of 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in supply chain and logistics management, particularly within malaria or HIV/AIDS programmes. Familiarity with national supply chain systems, including LMIS and MCLS, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills, excellent communication and planning abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within local contexts. Residency in Jigawa State, knowledge of the local terrain and culture, and the ability to communicate in local languages are required.
