💼 Position: MEAL Coordinator
📍 Location: Abuja (FCT), Nigeria
🧭 Role Overview
The MEAL Coordinator will lead Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities across the country programme. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director – Programs, the role involves supervising MEAL teams, ensuring data quality, strengthening accountability systems, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across projects in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Contribute to multi-year strategy development and annual reviews
- Lead MEAL system assessments and translate findings into action plans
- Align MEAL strategies with organizational priorities
Programme Monitoring & Quality
- Ensure quality, consistency, and compliance of MEAL tools and processes
- Supervise data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Support teams in indicator tracking and performance measurement
- Conduct field visits and provide technical guidance
Accountability
- Develop and manage complaint and feedback mechanisms
- Ensure accountability systems are functional, confidential, and effective
- Promote responsible data management and transparency
Evaluation & Learning
- Coordinate evaluations, research, and learning exercises
- Facilitate documentation and sharing of lessons learned
- Support programme improvements through data-driven insights
Development & Reporting
- Review and strengthen MEAL components in proposals and reports
- Ensure alignment with donor requirements and organizational standards
✅ Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field (Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, etc.)
- Strong experience in MEAL systems within humanitarian or development contexts
- Proven skills in data analysis, reporting, and programme quality assurance
- Experience managing teams and working in complex environments
- Strong understanding of accountability and data protection principles
