🎯 Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support Canada’s objectives in Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Equatorial Guinea by:

  • Providing administrative and budget-tracking support
  • Planning travel, events and advocacy initiatives
  • Supporting project management
  • Building networks with government, NGOs and private-sector organizations
  • Conducting research and analysing political, social and economic developments
  • Preparing reports, analyses and recommendations
  • Performing other duties as required

🎓 Essential Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline such as:
    • Political Science
    • Journalism
    • History
    • Sociology
    • Economics
    • Business
    • International Relations
    • International Studies

Experience
You need at least 2 years of recent professional experience (within the last 5 years) in:

  • Office work using Word, PowerPoint, Excel and internet browsers
  • Research, interviews, analysis or report writing concerning Nigerian political, social, current-affairs or economic issues
  • Using social media platforms such as Twitter/X and Facebook

Language

  • Advanced English proficiency in reading, writing, comprehension and speaking.

⭐ Asset Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Advanced Pidgin proficiency
  • Basic French
  • Advanced Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba
  • Experience managing corporate/professional social-media accounts
  • Experience writing press releases, speeches or official communications
  • Project-management experience
