Role Summary
The Field Officer will support a multi component project to improve routine immunization coverage in Kebbi State through the deployment of Mobile Immunization Teams across 16 Local Government Areas. The role reports to the Kebbi Routine Immunization State Program Manager and works closely with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officers and Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers. The Field Officer will provide training, supervision, and support to Mobile Immunization Teams and will serve as Field Officer for 1 Local Government Area. In addition, those serving as a Field officer at PATH are expected to contribute to innovative health strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct project orientation for Field Officers and provide ongoing direct management, similar to responsibilities expected from a Field officer at PATH.
Serve as Field Officer for 1 Local Government Area.
Develop and update microplans in collaboration with health facility staff and health officials.
Support the Senior Program Manager in managing local partners responsible for Mobile Immunization Teams. As a Field officer at PATH, you will be expected to coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
Ensure appropriate selection, orientation, monitoring, and deployment schedules for Mobile Immunization Teams and Field Officers.
Oversee the design and delivery of training for Mobile Immunization Teams in collaboration with local partners.
Work with health facility staff on supportive supervision workplans and supervision activities. In many cases, a Field officer at PATH would work collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes.
Oversee supportive supervision of Mobile Immunization Teams by Field Officers.
Coordinate closely with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officers and Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers to align activities with Mobile Immunization Teams. By doing so, a Field officer at PATH can help ensure alignment and effective project implementation.
Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of project activities. This responsibility is also expected from Field officers at PATH.
Work with Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers to track vaccine information trends and adapt messages and materials when needed. For individuals serving as a Field officer at PATH, adaptability and responsiveness are critical.
Consolidate feedback from Field Officers and Mobile Immunization Teams on communication materials and share with Advocacy Communications and Social Mobilization officers.
Monitor vaccines and related supplies and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure adequacy. Furthermore, a Field officer at PATH may be responsible for maintaining supply chains in similar contexts.
Work with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officers and partners to review performance data and improve activities.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor degree in public health or related field with at least 5 years experience in health service delivery. Experience in immunization service delivery is strongly preferred
Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation of health programs.
Experience managing teams, as is required
Ability to work collaboratively with health facility officials and staff. Collaboration is a key element for Field officers working at PATH.
