Role Summary

The Country Director is responsible for the smooth functioning and development of the mission in Nigeria. The role provides overall leadership, coordination of programmes, staff management, security oversight, representation with partners and authorities, and strong coordination with headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and security management of the mission.

Coordination and supervision of all programmes and teams.

Identification of humanitarian needs and development of new operations.

Human resources management including staffing supervision and performance follow up.

Logistical administrative and financial monitoring in line with organizational procedures and donor rules.

Medical and technical monitoring in line with organizational operational frameworks and policies.

Representation of the organization with partners donors media and authorities.

Ensure strong communication and reporting between headquarters and field teams.

Key Challenges

Ensure continuity and development of programmes in North East and North West Nigeria.

Strengthen strategy through local partnerships.

Strengthen relationships with stakeholders and authorities and ensure staff safety in a challenging security environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Masters degree or equivalent in humanitarian action project management human resources management financial management or a related technical field.

Minimum of 3 years experience with international NGOs in project coordination team management project cycle management and security management.

Previous experience as Country Director or in a similar role is an advantage.

Previous experience with Première Urgence Internationale is an added advantage.

Skills and Qualities

Strong humanitarian project management and team leadership skills.

Strong knowledge of donor requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong leadership decision making and organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt in unstable environments.

Language Requirements

Professional proficiency in English is mandatory.

French language is an added advantage.

Contract and Benefits

Executive status with a fixed term contract.

Monthly gross income 3330.00 to 3730.00 EUR depending on experience plus 50 EUR per semester of seniority with PUI.

Medical insurance including complementary healthcare 24 24 assistance and repatriation.

Housing provided in individual accommodation.

Daily living expenses per diem provided.

Break policy 5 working days at 3 and 9 months plus break allowance.

Paid leave policy 5 weeks of paid leave per year plus return ticket every 6 months.
