Job Summary
The LGA Field Assistant will support the implementation of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) activities at the Local Government Area level, health facility level, and within communities. The role involves planning, coordinating, and reporting on SMC program activities while working closely with local government representatives, community stakeholders, and health workers. Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation, Treatment Tracking and Management
The Field Assistant will support the implementation of SMC activities at the LGA level, including planning meetings, route planning, commodity distribution, supervision, community mobilization, monitoring, and reporting. The role will ensure that SMC commodities and supplies are delivered on time and that stock levels are monitored to prevent stockouts.
The position will track program targets, review activity reports for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that program implementation follows approved protocols. The Field Assistant will also support training activities for supervisors, health facility workers, community health workers, and community mobilizers.
The role includes maintaining strong working relationships with public health officers and other partners, conducting home visits, and supporting LGA ownership of program activities. Reporting and Data Quality Control

Administrative Responsibilities
The role involves supporting planning of stock levels and monitoring commodity consumption during SMC cycles. The Field Assistant will ensure that health facilities conduct physical inventory of SMC commodities after each cycle and will assist in the development of individual and team action plans to achieve treatment targets.
Additional tasks may be assigned by the line manager as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess a diploma-level qualification in clinical sciences, nursing, social sciences, public health, or a related discipline. Candidates should have at least two years of field experience in a relevant area. Notably, the Field Assistant (LGA) job with malaria consortium requires strong fieldwork skills.
