Call for Applications: AI Ethics & Governance Fellowship

Call for Applications: AI Ethics & Governance Fellowship

The future of AI in Africa will not be determined by technology alone, but by individuals who understand policy, ethics, and real-world systems. The Policy Innovation Centre, in collaboration with the Africa Hub for Innovation & Development and supported by Luminate, is now accepting applications for the AI Ethics & Governance Fellowship.

This fully virtual three-month program is designed for professionals working at the intersection of technology, policy, and societal impact. Ideal candidates include policy and governance professionals shaping digital transformation, tech practitioners building AI-enabled solutions, researchers and development experts focused on societal impact, and leaders committed to responsible AI across Africa.

Fellows will receive advanced training in AI ethics, policy, and governance, mentorship from African and global experts, hands-on experience through a capstone project with real policy impact, and access to a pan-African network of changemakers.

This program is more than a learning opportunity; it is a platform to actively shape how AI is governed across the continent. Participants should expect to commit six to eight hours per week over the three-month period.

Application Deadline: April 10, 2026
