The African Union has opened applications for the AU Digital and Innovation Fellowship Programme for the 2026 to 2027 cohort. This competitive, fixed term, full time fellowship places young and mid level technology professionals within African Union institutions to support digital transformation, data driven decision making, and public sector innovation at the continental level.
Selected fellows will work as embedded professionals across AU departments, contributing to priority programmes at the intersection of technology, policy, and innovation. Each role has clear terms of reference covering objectives, deliverables, host institution, duty station, duration, and reporting lines. These roles support key AU organs and directorates such as AMCOW, AUDA NEPAD, ESTI, MIS, the Office of the Director General, and the Women, Gender and Youth Directorate, with responsibilities ranging from dashboards and monitoring systems to full stack development, digital communications, ERP support, and evidence based reporting.
