🧭 ROLE SUMMARY

The Youth Envoy will serve as a high-level advocate representing African youth within AU processes. The role focuses on promoting youth participation, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring youth voices are integrated into policy-making and development initiatives aligned with Agenda 2063.

🛠️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion AU youth policies and frameworks
• Promote youth engagement in governance and decision-making
• Strengthen youth networks and partnerships across Africa
• Lead advocacy campaigns for youth empowerment
• Represent youth interests in AU platforms and global engagements
• Support youth-focused events, dialogues, and initiatives

🎓 QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years experience OR Master’s Degree with 7 years experience
• Background in Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, IT, or related fields
• At least 3 years at senior/expert level
• Strong experience in youth advocacy, leadership, and mobilization
• Proven ability to influence policy and lead multi-stakeholder initiatives
• Proficiency in at least one AU official language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Kiswahili, or Spanish)

👤 ELIGIBILITY

• Must be 18–35 years old
• Open to candidates from West, East, and Central Africa (geographical rotation applies)

💰 REMUNERATION

• International Staff: $96,921.34 annually
• Local Staff: $78,461.08 annually
(All-inclusive package)
