About the Role
ACE Group is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to strengthen data systems, generate actionable insights, and support evidence-based decision-making across public health and social development programmes in Nigeria. The role will work closely with programme and technical teams to design data pipelines, analyze complex datasets, and develop interactive dashboards to improve programme performance and equity-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with programme and technical teams to understand data needs and reporting requirements
- Design and implement data collection, cleaning, transformation, and management processes
- Extract, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets using Python, R, and SQL
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and performance gaps
- Develop automated and interactive dashboards using Excel and Power BI
- Produce high-quality data visualizations and analytical reports to support programme decision-making
- Develop and maintain data models for forecasting, performance tracking, and strategic planning
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality assurance through validation checks
- Document methodologies, scripts, and dashboard user guides
- Provide technical guidance on data interpretation and dashboard use
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities through statistical analysis and performance tracking
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Minimum of three years’ experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or applied research
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL
- Advanced experience with Power BI and Excel for data visualization and dashboard development
- Strong analytical, statistical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills
- Experience working with large, complex datasets
- Knowledge of natural language processing techniques is an added advantage
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in public health, development, or monitoring and evaluation is an advantage

- SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
- Automated data pipelines using Python or R where applicable
- Data validation and quality assurance reports
- Exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis reports
- Performance indicator analysis aligned with programme KPIs
- Dynamic Excel dashboards and interactive Power BI dashboards
- Automated monthly and quarterly reporting templates
- Fully documented Python and R scripts, SQL documentation, and dashboard user guides
- Final technical report and knowledge transfer session
