COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Logistics Officer to support its humanitarian operations in Nigeria. This role is based in Benue and Kaduna States and reports to the Logistics Coordinator or designated supervisor.

Founded in Milan in 1965, COOPI is an international humanitarian NGO committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and supporting vulnerable populations affected by conflict, disasters, and economic hardship. For over 50 years, COOPI has implemented interventions across sectors including Food Security, Health, Water and Sanitation (WASH), Human Rights, Education, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Sustainable Development.
Role Overview
The Logistics Officer will support procurement and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with COOPI procedures and donor requirements. The role involves managing procurement documentation, maintaining asset and inventory systems, overseeing fleet and fuel management, and ensuring effective coordination of logistics activities at the base level.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Documentation
• Maintain and electronically archive procurement records
• Track and verify invoices before payment
• Issue tender documents to vendors and update supplier databases
• Conduct regular market surveys to ensure competitive pricing
• Enter procurement data into REGOLO software
Asset & Inventory Management
• Maintain asset registers and ensure proper documentation
• Monitor usage, maintenance, and reporting of all equipment
• Ensure proper storage, stock tracking, and reporting
• Prepare monthly stock and fuel consumption reports
Fleet & Operations
• Supervise drivers and manage vehicle fleet operations
• Ensure proper fuel storage and tracking
• Coordinate travel logistics and reservations
• Support identification and management of office and residential premises
Maintenance & Compliance
• Ensure proper maintenance of generators, inverters, and power systems
• Enforce logistics policies and procedures
• Liaise with security teams to ensure safety of staff and assets
• Promote adherence to COOPI’s Code of Conduct and anti-fraud policies
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with an INGO
• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent communication, reporting, and analytical skills
• Ability to work in multicultural and high-pressure environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with INGOs or UN agencies
• Knowledge of local languages
• Willingness to travel and work in remote locations
