The role supports the Global Programme Operations and Programme Risk, Delivery and Performance functions by providing strategic coordination, project management, performance monitoring, communications and operational support across a global organisation.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Officer will help coordinate the planning, delivery and monitoring of key Global Programme Operations and Programme Risk, Delivery and Performance priorities.

The successful candidate will act as a connector across teams and functions, strengthening collaboration, organisational learning, knowledge management, programme risk management, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong project management, analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in a complex global and matrixed environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Programme Operations Coordination and Performance

  1. Coordinate annual workplans, strategic priorities, delivery and reporting.
  2. Track key performance indicators, milestones and deliverables.
  3. Identify and escalate risks, dependencies and implementation challenges.
  4. Support collaboration across Global Programme Operations teams.
  5. Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations and briefing materials for leadership.
  6. Support operational process improvement, governance and organisational transformation.

Programme Risk, Delivery and Performance

  1. Support programme risk management and performance monitoring activities.
  2. Collect, consolidate and analyse programme risk information and action plans.
  3. Prepare strategic risk and performance reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
  4. Identify trends, lessons learned and opportunities to improve programme delivery.
  5. Support cross-functional initiatives focused on effectiveness, efficiency and accountability.

Learning and Knowledge Management

  1. Support learning and capacity-strengthening initiatives.
  2. Maintain and improve knowledge-management platforms.
  3. Support communities of practice, learning events and knowledge-sharing activities.
  4. Collect and share operational learning and good practices across Save the Children.

Communications and Leadership Support

  1. Develop newsletters, communications and engagement materials.
  2. Coordinate leadership meetings, workshops and strategic planning sessions.
  3. Support leadership communications and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Provide project and operational support to senior leaders.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration, Organisational Development, Risk Management, Management, Social Sciences or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  2. Experience supporting complex projects, programmes or operational initiatives within an international organisation.
  3. Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and workstreams in a matrixed environment.
  4. Strong project management, planning, monitoring and reporting skills.
  5. Experience with performance management, risk management, change initiatives or continuous improvement.
  6. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into practical recommendations.
  7. Experience preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials and communications for senior stakeholders.
  8. Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  9. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  10. Excellent written and spoken English.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with an international NGO, humanitarian or development organisation is advantageous.

Professional certification in Project Management such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or MSP is desirable.

Knowledge of Power BI, data visualisation, risk management, organisational performance, Monitoring and Evaluation, change management, continuous improvement or knowledge management will be an advantage.

Additional French, Spanish or Arabic language skills are also desirable.
