The Danish Refugee Council is hiring an Economic Recovery Officer to support humanitarian and livelihood interventions in North-West Nigeria. This role focuses on delivering Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), strengthening food security, and improving nutrition outcomes for vulnerable communities.

Role Purpose

Support the implementation of CVA (including MPCA), food assistance, and nutrition programmes by working closely with communities, stakeholders, and internal teams to improve livelihoods and resilience among beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities

Support beneficiary targeting, screening, verification, and registration
Implement CVA (including MPCA), food assistance, and nutrition activities
Manage safe and accountable cash distributions
Monitor market prices to guide interventions and transfer values
Provide nutrition education (including infant feeding and maternal nutrition)
Supervise community volunteers and field activities
Conduct post-distribution monitoring (PDM) and follow-ups
Maintain accurate records and contribute to donor reporting
Strengthen grievance and feedback mechanisms for beneficiaries
Coordinate with stakeholders including local authorities and NGOs
Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BSc / BA / HND) in Social Sciences, Public Health, Economics, or related field

At least 2 years experience in
Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) programming
Food assistance or humanitarian programming
Working with displaced or vulnerable populations

Strong understanding of
Protection principles and AAP (Accountability to Affected Populations)
Beneficiary targeting and post-distribution monitoring

Skills & Competencies

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and reporting abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Ability to work in high-pressure humanitarian settings
Knowledge of local context (North-West Nigeria) is an advantage
Fluency in English (Hausa or other local languages is a plus)
