🏥 About the Project (SARAH)
The Strengthening Access to Reproductive and Adolescent Health (SARAH) Project is a 4-year initiative implemented by UNICEF and UNFPA across selected Nigerian states, including Adamawa, Kwara, and Sokoto.
The project focuses on improving Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH+N) outcomes by strengthening:
- Governance and leadership systems
- Policy implementation and accountability
- Health financing and planning
- Quality service delivery within PHC systems

- Job Title: State Project Coordinator (Consultant)
- Project: SARAH – Enhancing Governance & Management Capacities at State Level (EGMCSL)
- Location: Adamawa State
- Organization: DGI Consult (Implementing Partner to UNICEF)
- Reports To: Program Director

🎯 Role Overview
The State Project Coordinator will lead and coordinate all project activities within Adamawa State, working closely with:
- State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (SPHCDA)
- Local Government Health Authorities
- Development partners and civil society organizations
You will ensure effective planning, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and reporting of all project interventions.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
- Map and engage key PHC stakeholders across the state
- Secure buy-in from government and partner institutions
- Maintain strong collaboration with SPHCDA and LGAs
2. Project Implementation
- Coordinate field activities, workshops, and assessments
- Lead baseline assessments of PHC governance and capacity gaps
- Support planning and execution of capacity-building programs
3. Capacity Strengthening
- Facilitate development of capacity improvement plans
- Contribute to training, mentoring, and supervision activities
- Support design and implementation of PHC governance tools
4. Monitoring & Reporting
- Document all project activities and progress
- Provide regular updates and reports to the central team
- Support learning, documentation, and replication of best practices
🎓 Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Public Health, Health Management, Policy, etc.)
- Advanced degree preferred (MPH or related field)
- At least 10 years experience in Nigeria’s health sector
- Minimum 3 years working with SMOH, SPHCDA, or similar institutions
✅ Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of PHC systems and health governance in Nigeria
- Experience managing state-level or field projects
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills (government & partners)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with local context in Adamawa State
- Willingness to travel across LGAs
