About the Assignment
Malaria Consortium, with funding from GiveWell, is supporting the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) and State Malaria Elimination Programmes (SMEPs) in Borno, FCT, Kogi, and Abia States to implement the 2026 ITN Mass Campaign.
The campaign involves the distribution of more than 16 million pyrethroid-chlorfenapyr dual-active-ingredient nets through a door-to-door approach.
As part of the preparation, Malaria Consortium will conduct State Training of Trainers and microplanning activities to strengthen the capacity of LGA technical assistants. Workshop Assistants will provide essential logistics and administrative support throughout the six-day workshop.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reporting by 7:00 AM to ensure the meeting venue remains clean, tidy, and hygienic.
- Supporting the movement of workshop materials to and from the meeting venue.
- Distributing meeting materials to participants when required.
- Ensuring all participants complete attendance sheets.
- Compiling, verifying, and typing participant attendance lists into electronic templates.
- Compiling, verifying, and entering participants’ and facilitators’ bank account details into electronic templates.
- Providing daily attendance updates to support timely communication with food vendors.
- Liaising with the hotel to coordinate appropriate feeding times.
- Taking photographs of workshop sessions.
- Setting up and operating IT equipment required for the smooth running of meetings.
- Performing other duties assigned to support the successful implementation of the workshop.
Expected Deliverables
At the end of the assignment, the Workshop Assistant will be expected to provide:
- Completed and validated participant/facilitator attendance lists in hard and soft copies.
- Collated and validated bank details of participants and facilitators.
- Participant attendance sheets.
- Excel-format participant lists containing relevant bank account details.
- Electronic copies of workshop photographs.
- Returned workshop materials, equipment, and assets to the Malaria Consortium office.
- A meeting report submitted to the Administrative Officer.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have:
- Minimum of SSCE qualification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- At least one year of experience in a similar position or assignment.
- Good numerical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
