Seismic Consulting Group is seeking to engage qualified professionals for the position of Senior Field Supervisor on a part-time basis in Borno and Adamawa States, Nigeria. The role is part of a Labour Market Assessment project designed to generate evidence-based insights into employment opportunities, skills demand, vocational training gaps, and priority economic sectors within conflict-affected communities. The overall objective of the assessment is to support the development of market-driven vocational skills programs targeted at displaced and vulnerable youth populations.
The selected consultants will serve as the operational leads for all field-related activities in their assigned locations. They will be responsible for coordinating data collection teams, overseeing stakeholder engagement, ensuring adherence to quality standards in data gathering, and managing field logistics, including security arrangements. Additionally, they will provide regular updates and reports to the Project Coordinator, ensuring that all activities are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
This role requires individuals with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in field research, labour market assessments, livelihoods studies, TVET assessments, or socio-economic surveys. Candidates must demonstrate strong experience in supervising and conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), household and business surveys, as well as market assessments. Prior experience working in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings, particularly in Northeast Nigeria, is essential. Experience with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, or development partners will be considered an added advantage.
Successful applicants must possess strong coordination and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities, and the capacity to manage teams effectively under pressure. Proficiency in digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or SurveyCTO is required, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English and Hausa is mandatory.
The consultancy will last for 30 days, during which the consultants will be expected to submit daily monitoring reports, weekly progress updates, stakeholder engagement summaries, data quality assurance reports, and a final implementation report.
