Role Summary
GAIN is recruiting a Deputy Country Director to support the Country Director in leading strategy, programme delivery, partnerships and operations across Nigeria. The role provides overall leadership for the design, development and implementation of GAIN Nigeria’s programme portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and with high technical quality.
Key Responsibilities
Support implementation of GAIN Nigeria’s business plan and national strategy
Provide leadership for programme design and implementation across all projects
Oversee delivery of project milestones and results across the portfolio
Support proposal development and resource mobilisation
Strengthen partnerships with government, donors, UN agencies, NGOs and private sector
Provide leadership to programme teams and support staff development
Support financial coordination, reporting and programme performance
Serve as acting Country Director when required
Requirements
Senior level experience in development or INGO programme management
Strong experience in programme design, grants management and donor reporting
Experience working with government, private sector and civil society in Nigeria
Strong leadership and people management skills
Experience in monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment systems
Understanding of nutrition, food systems, public health or community development
Master’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Agriculture, Public Health, Development or related field
Project management certification is an added advantage
Fluency in English required and knowledge of local languages is an advantage
Salary and Benefits
Up to ₦40,408,392 per annum gross depending on experience
37 days annual leave including public holidays and office closure days
