Role Overview
This role focuses on providing direct support to survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through case management, referrals, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Provide psychological first aid and survivor-centered support
- Conduct needs assessments and care planning
- Maintain confidential case documentation
- Ensure ethical handling of sensitive information
Community Engagement
- Lead GBV awareness and sensitization activities
- Work with women, youth groups, and community leaders
- Promote access to GBV support services
Coordination
- Liaise with:
- Healthcare providers
- Legal services
- Psychosocial support teams
- Participate in protection coordination meetings
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain case files and reports
- Track trends and protection issues
- Contribute to donor and internal reporting
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Sociology
- Social Work
- Psychology or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in GBV/case management
- Experience using GBVIMS+ / Primero tools
- Strong understanding of protection principles
- Knowledge of Bama LGA context
Preferred
- Experience in Northeast Nigeria
- Familiarity with referral systems (health, legal, MHPSS)

2. Community-Based Protection (CBP) / Protection Monitoring (PM) Assistant

Role Overview
This role supports community protection and monitoring activities, focusing on identifying risks, collecting data, and strengthening community safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
Community Protection
- Establish and support community protection structures
- Facilitate discussions on safety and protection risks
- Promote awareness on rights and services
Protection Monitoring
- Conduct field visits and collect protection data
- Identify vulnerable individuals and at-risk groups
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical data handling
Referrals
- Identify cases needing support (GBV, CP, MHPSS, etc.)
- Refer individuals to appropriate services
- Follow up on referrals where safe
Reporting & Coordination
- Submit activity reports and updates
- Participate in stakeholder meetings
- Document trends, risks, and success stories
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum:
- Secondary School / HND / Degree in Social Sciences
- 1–2 years experience in:
- Community work
- Protection or humanitarian roles
- Knowledge of:
- Protection principles
- Community engagement
- Strong local language skills (Hausa/Kanuri preferred)
Preferred
- Experience in CBP or protection monitoring
- Knowledge of safeguarding and gender inclusion
