VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: MID-LEVEL ACADEMIC RESEARCHER
The Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) in collaboration with the Ernest Shonekan Centre for Legislative Reforms and Economic Development is seeking a qualified Mid-Level Researcher (Academic) to join its team. This position is strategically designed to support high-level, evidence-based policy development and to contribute significantly to national reform conversations in Nigeria.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in conducting rigorous academic research that informs economic policy and legislative improvements, providing the data-driven insights necessary for national progress.
POSITION DETAILS
Role: Mid-Level Researcher (Academic)
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Nature of Contract: Part-time, One-year renewable contract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct comprehensive academic and policy-oriented research focused on legislative reforms and economic development.
2. Facilitate national reform conversations by providing evidence-based insights and data-driven recommendations.
3. Assist in the drafting and preparation of policy briefs, academic white papers, and research reports for stakeholders.
4. Support the Centre in identifying critical areas for legislative reform that align with national economic goals.
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure research outputs meet the highest professional and academic standards.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. A strong academic background with proven experience in research, policy analysis, or a related field.
2. Exceptional writing and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable policy recommendations.
3. Prior experience in an academic or think-tank environment is highly desirable.
4. Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity while meeting strict project deadlines.
5. Resident in or able to work from Abuja.
