🚀 Program Manager – Lagos, Nigeria | Orbit Ventures
Orbit Ventures, a global venture capital firm focused on driving economic transformation across emerging markets, is seeking a Program Manager to lead and execute startup programs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
This full-time role, based in Lagos, Nigeria, reports to the Senior Program Manager and is central to delivering high-impact programs that support startup growth, innovation, and ecosystem development.
Role Overview:
The Program Manager will be responsible for driving program strategy, managing execution, and fostering a thriving environment for portfolio companies. The role requires a strong blend of operational excellence, stakeholder management, and data-driven decision-making to optimize outcomes across accelerator and pre-accelerator programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Startup Success:
- Onboard startups and ensure active engagement with mentors, Experts-in-Residence (EIRs), and ecosystem resources
- Support the progression of promising startups through pre-accelerator and deal-flow pipelines
Ecosystem Engagement:
- Source and manage mentors, EIRs, and speakers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and global partners
Operational Excellence:
- Execute programs successfully and achieve high participant satisfaction (NPS)
- Manage vendors, contractors, and event logistics, including demo days
- Design and implement corporate and government programs
- Oversee daily operations and stakeholder coordination
- Continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Performance Milestones:
- First 30 days: Onboard startups and understand Orbit’s ecosystem and value proposition
- By 90 days: Contribute to program design, manage SOPs, and coordinate demo day logistics
- By 180 days: Lead programs independently, design new initiatives, and drive measurable impact across portfolio companies
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in program management, product development, or startup scaling
- Experience working in a high-growth startup environment is preferred
- Proven ability to manage teams, vendors, and complex projects
- Strong understanding of startup ecosystems and accelerator programs
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
